Sibirsky, John DeCesare & Weiss, Old Stone House 6/11/10 Friday, June 11, 2010 - 8:30 PM to 11:00 PM "This month's jazz concert at the Old Stone House will be a piano, bass, drums trio with some surprise guests sitting in during the last set. This will be the last concert of this season and will mark the end of the third year I've been presenting various jazz groups at the Old Stone House. John DeCesare and I have been playing around the greater metropolitan area for about 10 years. We have toured France. He also plays piano, guitar, and sings. Robert Weiss, a Los Angeles expatriot, has been playing with me in various clubs, and libraries around NYC. He has become one of my favorite drummers.Robert Weiss and I have been playing sessions and gigs around town for 5 years. His history as a musician is incredible. Check his website for a good read. He's played many venues including cruiseships. His big ears, sense of swing, great time, and use of dynamics make him a great drummer to play with. I've been playing jazz piano in the greater metropolitan area New York City for 40 years. My wife, Vita, and I run and teach in a music school in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn called Slope Music. We'll be playing some of the lines of LennieTristano, Charlie Parker, Thelonius Monk, and the great American standards of Cole Porter, George Gershwin, etc., as well as some originals of mine." - Charles Sibirsky Charles Sibirsky, piano Old Stone House Historic Center Admission is only $12 |
